Mrs. Wall was born July 11, 1941, in Tulsa, OK., the daughter of Marvin and M. Elaine (Duckworth) Connor. Mrs. Wall married Louis ‘Louie’ Wall on Aug. 17, 1963, at the First Christian Church in Greenville and recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. They went on to have two daughters, Heather and Sybil and granddaughter Connor.
After graduating Greenville High School with the class of 1959, Mrs. Wall continued to live and work in the Greenville area. She helped support her family over the years working at the Bond County Courthouse, Utlaut Memorial Hospital, FS, Pet Milk and finally finishing her career as a lab technician at Mallinckrodt. Following her retirement from Mallinckrodt, she shared her love for socializing, jewelry and antiques by working part-time in the jewelry department at Value City and at Pepin’s Country store.
Mrs. Wall spent a lot of her free time going to auctions, flea markets and garden nurseries hunting for gorgeous antiques and flowers. She was not afraid of hard work as she avidly took care of her beautiful home and garden. She was constantly planting, painting and decorating. When she decided to relax, she loved to sit on her porch swing and spend time in her ‘she-shed’ drinking coffee and listening to music. Mrs. Wall was quite the seamstress, making her own clothes as well as clothes and costumes for her daughters and granddaughter. She loved fashion and was quite the ‘fashionista,’ always looking her best. Mrs. Wall always said, “No matter how young or old you are, you can always have fabulous shoes and purses.”
Additional hobbies and interests included being a registered Delaware Indian, an active member of the Greenville Garden Club, the First Christian Church, Home Extension Club and venturing out with friends and family to concerts, the Fox Theater and the Muny.
Mrs. Wall loved being a mother and grandmother. She was involved in all her daughters’ and granddaughter’s activities from Girl Scouts, 4-H, plays, band concerts and cheerleading to t-ball through collegiate sports. She never missed an event.
Mrs. Wall was very kind and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all of those who knew and loved her.
Surviving Mrs. Wall are her husband, Louie of Greenville; daughters Heather (Robbie) Stich of Pocahontas and Sybil Wall of St. Louis, MO; granddaughter Connor Stich of Greenville; and sister Dottye Tompkins of Highland.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
