Sharon "Sherry" L. Purcell Derry, 70, of Witt, died on Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16, at Hough and Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro with the Rev. James Hayes, of St. James Baptist Church in Hillsboro, officiating. Hough and Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro is assisting the family.
Ms. Derry was born on Aug. 7, 1948, in Hillsboro, to William Purcell, Jr. and Frances (Tucker) Purcell. She is a graduate of Hillsboro High School and worked at Illinois Emergency Management Agency for more than 20 years.
Ms. Derry is survived by her children, Michael Derry of Witt, Laura Drone of Springfield, Carl Drone of Springfield, Craig Drone of Langleyville and Evelyn Johnson of Monroe, LA; six grandchildren; one brother, William "Bill" (Mary) Purcell III of Surprise, AZ; and one sister, Marsha Purcell of Sun City, AZ.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
