Shirley Dunlevy, 80

Shirley Dunlevy, 80, of Springfield, died on Monday, April 8, 2019, at her home with her loving family at her side.

 Visitation will be held Thursday, April 11, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Bisch and Son Funeral Home in Springfield, 505 East Allen Street. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 12, beginning at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Mark Gifford officiating. Burial will follow in Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield.

Mrs. Dunlevy was born Jan. 2, 1939, in Virginia, to Alice (Hickman) Brunk and John W. Logue, Sr. She married Ross "Todd" Dunlevy on May 16, 1959, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 16, 2014.

She worked at HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield for 28 years, and served as a den mother for the Boy Scouts.

Mrs. Dunlevy was an avid Nascar fan and enjoyed going to Nascar races. She and her husband traveled all over the United States on their vacations.

She is survived by her children, Linda (Bob) Myers of Athens, Stephen (Linda) Dunlevy of Butler, Kenneth (Susan) Dunlevy and Cheryl (Pat) Holcomb, both of Springfield; 12 grandchildren, Michelle (Kenny) Johnson, Christopher, Lindsay, Nicholas, Joseph and Andrew Dunlevy, Janelle and Brandon (Jessica) Myers, Jennifer (David) Kruse and Patrick, Jessica and Jeremy (Rachael) Holcomb; ten great-grandchildren; six sisters, Jean Schappaugh of Manito, Margaret (Johnny) Chesser and Donna Forbs, both of Chandlerville, Rose Thompson of Athens, Alice (John) Turner of Bluff Springs and Linda Adams of Lincoln; a brother-in-law, Bryan (Penny) Dunlevy; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her husband of 55 years, Mrs. Dunlevy was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, William, John and Ivan Logue.

Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
