Shirley Jean Adams, 87, of Nokomis, died at 2:15 a.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2019, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Mt. Zion.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 22, at 11 a.m. at Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis. Pastor Chris Huff officiated services. Burial was in Glendale Cemetery in Fillmore.
Mrs. Adams was born on May 30, 1932, to Louis and Anita (Striegel) Shelton. She married Cecil O. Adams on Dec. 23, 1949, and he preceded her in death on March 4, 2018. She was employed as a certified nursing assistant at Taylorville Memorial Hospital and Pana Memorial Hospital for almost 60 years.
Mrs. Adams is survived by her daughter, Sherdel (Michl) Adams of Mt. Zion; grandchildren, Dustin (Lauren) Ritter of Thomasboro, Brittany (partner Jared) Henry of Pana; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Leroy of Taylorville.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Rona Ritter; parents; and siblings, Louie, Katie Elam, Charlie, Billy, Darlene Christian, Charlotte White, Violet Jacobs, Denny Jacobs, Herbie Jacobs, Vernon Jacobs and Dorothy Jacobs.
