Shirley L. (Wagner) Jones, 86, of Bingham, formerly of Granite City, died on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2021, at her home surrounded by family.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Feb. 6, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Pontoon Baptist Church in Pontoon Beach. A memorial service will follow, beginning at 12 p.m. at the church with the Rev. Mike Jameson officiating. Miller Funeral Home in Ramsey is assisting the family.
Mrs. Jones was born May 2, 1934, in Granite City, to Elmer Raymond and Wilma Opal (Louden) Wagner. She married Norman Jones on March 31, 1950, in Granite City.
A homemaker, she loved her family and grandchildren. She was affiliated with the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her sons, Danny (Vicki) Jones of Vandalia, Scott (Susan) Jones of Pocahontas and Brian Jones of Granite City; daughters, Sharon (Dean) Gergen and Annette (Rodger) Gann, both of Granite City, Sandy (Gene) Blaylock of Coffeen and Brenda (Rick) Youngberg of Bingham; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary Frances (James) Starling of St. Clair, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents; former husband; brother, John Wagner; and daughter-in-law, Pamela Jones.
Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Fayette County Hospice.
