Shirley Lucille Link, 78, of Benld, died on Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 27, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie. Memorial services will follow, beginning at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Inurnment will be held in Bethel Ridge Cemetery.
Mrs. Link was born Aug. 29, 1940, in Jerseyville, to the late James and Theresa "Lucille" (Dabbs) McCaherty.
During her career, she served as a registered nurse for a hospital. She was an avid card player.
Mrs. Link is survived by her children, Rhonda (Ron) Heyen of Gillespie, Theresa Franks of Wilmington, NC, and Brenda (Deane) Martin of Butler; grandchildren, Michael (Jane) Heyen, Mitchell (Denise) Heyen, Meredith Johnston, Emma Franks, Sabrey (Doug) Ball, Tara (Colin) Quinn and Erin (Troy Lamprecht) Martin; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Anna (Dale) Jarman of Jerseyville, Carole Jean Feazell of Jacksonville, FL, and Linda McCaherty of Springfield; several nieces and nephews; and former husband, Mike Link of Cottage Hills.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Brandon Heyen; sister, Mary Lou McCaherty; and son-in-law, Charles Franks.
Memorials may be directed to the National Federation of the Blind.
