Shirley R. Caulk, 79, of Witt, died on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at 4 p.m., at her residence.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 13, from 12 to 3 p.m. at Irving Century House. Burial will follow at Irving Cemetery.
Mrs. Caulk was born on Nov. 11, 1944, in Springfield, to the late Millard and Eudora (Sutton) Dunham. She married Loren “PeeWee” Caulk, and they later divorced. She lived in Springfield, Irving and Witt throughout her life.
Mrs. Caulk was a high school graduate and attended Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield to study special education, as well as attending Court Security Academy.
Mrs. Caulk worked at Beckemeyer Elementary School in Hillsboro in special education, as well as security for the Montgomery County Courthouse and a Taylorville Drug Rehab counselor for Gateway Foundation.
Mrs. Caulk was a member United Methodist Church of Irving. She loved fishing, hunting, horseback riding, bowling and spending time with family and grandchildren. She was a St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Mrs. Caulk is survived by her children, Lori Joyce of Witt and Kenny (wife Debbie) Caulk of Lake in the Hills; grandchildren, Derrick Joyce, Dillon Joyce, Amy Caulk and Drew Caulk; great-grandchildren, Aaroh and Archer Joyce; brother, Jim Dunham and sister, Carol.
Mrs. Caulk was preceeded in death by her parents; two brothers; and one sister.
