'Skins Make Short Work Of Panthers

The Nokomis Redskins hosted Pana on Thursday, April 11, and upped their winning streak to six with a 13-1 thumping of the 2-9 Panthers.

Nokomis wasted no time jumping on top, scoring eight runs in the first inning. Alex Tosetti, who got the start on the mound for the Redskins, would give up a run in the second inning but the Nokomis bats answered with a run of their own in the bottom half, making the score 9-1 after two innings.

The Skins picked up four more runs in the bottom half of the third making the score 13-1. Tosetti continued to sit down Pana batters, not allowing another run for the rest of the game, which ultimately led to Nokomis’ 13-1 victory.

Tosetti threw all five innings of the game for the Skins, giving up a run on two hits, striking out five. Nick Mascher, Ryan Janssen, Marc Grigoroff and Jake Johnson all got multiple hits for the Redskins as they improved their record to 6-3 going into the Montgomery County Baseball Tournament on April 13, which they won with victories over Morrisonville and Hillsboro.
