Skyler Lee Henson, Sr., 37, of Vandalia, died tragically on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2020.

Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 9, at 8th Day Venue in Vandalia with Haron Denton officiating. Interment followed in McInturff Cemetery in Vandalia.

Mr. Henson was born Oct. 6, 1983, in St. Louis, MO, the son of Marion and Cherie (Tipps) Henson. He spent the past 14 years with the love of his life, fiance, Shayla Washburn, and she survives.

He worked for Carlisle SynTec Systems in Greenville. He was first and foremost an amazing father to his and his fiance’s three children. He was their protector, and they were his pride and joy. He was a loyal friend who loved sharing a laugh. In his spare time, he loved riding his Harley or spending time on his fishing boat.

In addition to his fiance, he is survived by daughters, Desirae Henson and Jayden Henson, and son, Skyler Henson, Jr., all of Vandalia; mother, Cherie Henson of Mulberry Grove; sisters, Christina Henson of Coffeen and Chamie (husband David) Staggs of Keyesport; and brother, Shane Henson of Bluff City.

He was preceded in death by his father.
