Stella Marie Knight, 89, of Litchfield, died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2019, at 5:15 a.m. at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Care in Litchfield.
No memorial services are being held. Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Knight was born July 31, 1930, in Staten Island, NY, a daughter of Carl Milatto and Maria (Marotto) Santoro. She married Earl Ray Knight on Nov. 22, 1952, in Staten Island, NY, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 9, 1997.
An office clerk, she worked from an office pool, working in various companies throughout New York City, NY. She and her husband moved to Litchfield in 1992. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield.
She enjoyed camping, cooking, going to movies and loved traveling to see her grandchildren. She particularly enjoyed working and volunteering her time at Hearts United in Litchfield. She also volunteered at HSHS St. Francis Hospital Auxiliary.
She is survived by one son, Ray E. (Cindy) Knight of Port Trevorton, PA; one daughter, Maria D. Knight of Shamokin Dam, PA; nephew, Harry Diamond of Litchfield; five grandchildren, Rayna (Michael) Smith, Joseph (Emma) Knight, Jennifer Knight-Sanchez, Sarah Knight and Samuel Knight; and four great-grandchildren, Peter, Elias, Lorenzo and Ivan.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Andrew and Patsy Santoro; and two sisters, Catherine Diamond and Josephine Donnelly.
