Stephen L. Neal, 65, of Morrisonville, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 2021, at his home. Due to COVID-19, there will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Mr. Neal was born May 28, 1955, in Anderson, IN, the son of Richard Neal and Joyce (Southers) McCurdy. He married Charla (Herman) McGuire on Feb. 14, 2001, in Springfield, and she survives.
A retired hog farmer, he owned his own cabinet making business. He was a member of the Illinois Pork Producers Association and the SangChris Bass Club. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He valued the time he spent with his family and friends. He was always quick to lend a hand when needed, and will be missed by family and friends.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by stepdaughters, Angela (Don) Humphrey and Erin (Brett) Hogge, all of Taylorville; stepson, Will McGuire of Taylorville; grandchildren, Matthew and Mary Tucker, and Elliott, Evan, Ethen and Ella Hogge, all of Taylorville; and Kyle and Tyler McGuire, both of Pana; great-grandchildren, Sophia and Lydia Tucker and Emersyn Hogge, all of Taylorville; sister, Kelly (Dan) Baylis of Howell, MI; brother, Tim (Denise) McCurdy of Pendleton, IN; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a sister, Deb Reed, and father-in-law, William Herman.
