Steve Blasko, 92, of Plainfield, formerly of Coalton, died on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2019, at AMITA Health Adventist Medical Center in Bolingbrook.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Aug. 24, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis. Mass of Christian Burial will follow, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the church with the very Rev. Albert Allen, VF officiating. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery in Nokomis with military rites conducted by Waples-Bauer Post 94 of Nokomis. Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Blasko was born July 27, 1927, in Coalton, to Michael and Katherine (Hudak) Blasko.

He attended St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis and graduated from Nokomis High School.

Mr. Blasko served his country in the Army Air Force, from 1945 to 1946. During his civilian career, he worked as a millwright at American Can Co.

He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis and  Clearing Post 600 of the American Legion.

Mr. Blasko is survived by his sister, Mary Blasko of Decatur; brother, Peter James "Pete" Blasko of Decatur; nephew, John (Mary) Blasko of Huntley; special friend of many years, Nancy Morowczyski; niece, Janet (Tom) Rexelny of Batavia; and many loving great-nieces and nephews and their families.

Memorials may be directed to St. Louis Catholic School in Nokomis.
