Tammy Iola Novotny, 60, of Coffeen, died on Saturday, July 18, 2020, at 4:03 p.m. at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 24, from 12 to 1 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro. A memorial service will follow, beginning at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. James Hayes, pastor of St. James Baptist Church in Hillsboro, officiating. Burial will be conducted in Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsboro at a later date. Those attending the services are encouraged to adhere to CDC guidelines by wearing masks and social distancing.

Mrs. Novotny was born Dec. 1, 1959, in Hillsboro to Sandra Lee (Sportsman) Lawson and stepfather Arthur Lawson. She married Mark Novotny on June 14, 1979, in Hillsboro, and he survives.

She graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1977, and served as ward clerk at Hillsboro Area Hospital.

During her lifetime, she resided in Hillsboro, Worden and Coffeen.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Novotny is survived by her son, Lucas Mark Novotny in Cabot, AR; and two grandchildren, Jossilea Taylor DeBardeleben and Rylea Carol DeBardeleben.

She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather; and daughter, Brandi Lea Novotny.
