Thelma T. (Jorn) Brohammer, 91, of Coffeen, died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2020, at 4:08 a.m. at Tremont Ridge Assisted Living in Hillsboro.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Sept. 12, from 9 to 10 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at the church with Father Dan Willenborg, pastor of St. Agnes Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be held in St. John’s Cemetery in Coffeen. COVID-19 CDC guidelines will be followed. Everyone will be required to use masks and social distance. Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro is in charge of arrangements. 

Mrs. Brohammer was born Jan. 19, 1929, in Hillsboro to the late Paul and Genevieve (Spinner) Jorn. She married Lawrence Brohammer on April 7, 1951, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Coffeen, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 3, 2011.

She was a 1946 graduate of Coffeen High School and Business School in Omaha, NE. During her lifetime, she lived in Hillsboro, Omaha, NE, and Coffeen. She worked  in Hillsboro for the Montgomery County Recorder’s Office as a secretary, and was also a homemaker and farm wife. 

A member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Coffeen, she was also a member of the Altar Society and St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro. She loved to garden, cook, embroider and do needlework. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and St. Louis Blues hockey fan.

She is survived by her children, Mary (husband David) Logsdon of Champaign, Linda (husband Steve) Schroedter of Hillsboro and Ben (wife Karen) Brohammer, DVM of Hilton Head, SC; nine grandchildren, Jason Logsdon, Matthew Logsdon, Ryan Logsdon, Christine Schroedter, Adam Schroedter, Alison Scott, Alex Brohammer, Abigail Brohammer and Audrey Brohammer; 11 great-grandchildren, Adelyn Logsdon, Camden Williams, Ethan McLean, Gwenyth Logsdon, Brylar Logsdon, Luke Logsdon, Brystal Logsdon, Bralyn Logsdon, Keegan Schroedter, Isla Scott and Ford Scott; and siblings, Donald (wife Hilda) Jorn of Virden, Delmar Jorn of India and Helen Todd of Elmhurst.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Brent Brohammer in infancy.

Memorials may be made to  St. John’s Cemetery in Coffeen, donor’s choice or masses.
