Thomas Gerald Mikolasek, 65, of Litchfield, died at 3:01 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2020, at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

A private family service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church in Hillsboro, with Rev. Jeff Hemken, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Cremation rites were accorded. Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mr. Mikolasek was born on Aug. 28, 1954, in Hillsboro, to Adolph Gerald and Opal R. (Boyd) Mikolasek. He graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1972 and attended some college. He married April Bugg on Aug. 28, 1981, in Hillsboro.

Mr. Mikolasek was a truck driver for many area companies. He was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church in Hillsboro, where he was a deacon and a sound tech. He belonged to the  Operating Engineers Local #965 in Springfield. In his spare time,  he loved riding motorcycles, traveling and driving. He loved his dog and was a family man. 

Mr. Mikolasek is survived by his wife; children, Rochelle Mutchler of Litchfield, Glenda (Bob) Fenton of Hillsboro and Andrea (Aaron) Savage of Hillsboro; five grandchildren, Ashlea (Steven) Duncan, Zach Stevens, Dagan Stevens, Tatum Fenton and Tessa Fenton; great-grandchild, Kase Duncan; siblings, Patricia Gaddy of Olney and Rose Mikolasek of Taylorville.
