Thomas Henry Harmon, Sr., 66, of New Douglas, died on Monday, April 27, 2020, at SSM Health, Saint Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

Due to social distancing guidelines that prohibit public gatherings, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Cremation rites were accorded per his wishes. Lesicko Funeral Home in Livingston is assisting the family.

Mr. Harmon was born Aug. 22, 1953, in Litchfield, to Henry S. and Violet M. (Vallow) Harmon. He married Rebecca King on Sept. 29, 1991, and she survives.

During his career, he worked at Granite City Steel for 43 years, retiring in 2014. He was a member of the United Steelworkers Union, Local 1063 in Granite City.

In his spare time, Mr. Harmon enjoyed listening to music, reading comic books and spending time with his puppy, Abby.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Angie Rinderer; son, Thomas “Tom” (Chelsea Wendling) Harmon, Jr.; stepchildren, Patrick Cunningham, Emily Cunningham and Melissa Cunningham; grandchildren, Dakota Mollet, Mallory Mollet, Piper Rinderer and Maxton Rinderer; six additional grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; sister, Laura (husband Alan) Schreckenberg; and his nieces, Katlynn and Alisa.

Mr. Harmon was preceded in death by his parents.
