Thomas Henry Miller, 84, of Sorento, died on Sunday, July 21, 2019, at 3:57 a.m. at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.

Visitation will be held Saturday, July 27, from 12 to 2 p.m. at Perfetti-Assalley Funeral Home in Sorento, 201 South Main Street. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Oley Lawson officiating. Interment will be held at Kirkland Cemetery in Sorento.

Mr. Miller was born Sept. 27, 1934, in Lebanon, MO, to John and Rebecca (Patchett) Miller. He married Jessie E. Neathery on March 14, 1954, at the United Methodist Church in Sorento, and she survives.

A graduate of Greenville High School, he was noted as one of the worst gigglers in the class of 1952. His love for laugher was infectious.

Mr. Miller was a devout Christian, who was strong supporter of his church and committed much of his time to teaching and supporting children's programs. He was a longtime member of Sorento Baptist Church and Leesburg Baptist Church in Leesburg, FL.

He loved all that nature has to offer andwas passionate about his farming business. He enjoyed spending time with his family, travelling with his wife and playing golf. He was a loving father, husband, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to everyone, and was always ready for a game of cards or a cherry pie.

In addition to his wife of 65 years, Mr. Miller is survived by his three daughters, Marsha Ann Miller of Louisville, KY, Melinda Sue (husband Albert) Duffel of Sour Lake, TX, and Theresa Kay (husband Sev) Keil of Vienna, Austria; five grandchildren, James Miller, Sonya Leppo, Natasha Miller, Megan Butler and Sev Keil; two great-grandchildren, Mira Leppo and Monroe Butler; and a brother, Marvin (wife Henrietta) Miller of Panama.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Clovis and Jimmy Giovanetto; and two sisters, Vera Bennett and Juanita Smith.
