Tommy E. Sherman, 87, of Gillespie, died at Gillespie Health and Rehab Center in Gillespie on Monday, April 13, 2026, at 6:20 a.m.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 20, at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie from 9 to 11 a.m. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Gillespie Cemetery in Gillespie. Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Sherman was born on May 11, 1938, in Litchfield, to Charles E. Thunehorst and Norman J. and Catherine Wright Sherman. He married Mary Etta Stoneburner, and she preceded him in death on Oct. 22, 1983. He married Lynne Folkerts.
He was a contractor and a member of the Shriners and Masons (Scottish Rites). He enjoyed Mustangs, motorcycles, archery and motor home travel.
Mr. Sherman is survived by his wife, Lynne Sherman of Gillespie; sons, Tommy (Carol) Sherman Jr. of Gillespie and Todd (Leslie) Sherman of Gillespie; stepson, Keith (Tina) Marburger of Litchfield; stepdaughter, Kelly (Clay) Titsworth of Litchfield; grandchildren, Chase, Marrisa, Keasha, Kirsten, Haley, Emily and Chad; great-grandchildren, Chloe, Nolan, Ruger, Norah, Maddy, Hazel and Lucy; sisters, Diane Williams of Oak Hill, WV, and Rosemary Sherman of Staunton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first spouse; son, Charles “Chuck” E. Sherman; brother, Norman Sherman; and sister, Janet Gentle.
