After qualifying for state in its first year of existence, the Hillsboro High School bass fishing team will host a tournament fundraiser on Saturday, Nov. 27, at Coffeen Lake.
The tournament will run from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the South Boat Access, with a 6:45 a.m. rules briefing. There is a $100 entry fee per boat, with 70 percent payback based on 20 boats. With 20 boats, first place will receive $600, followed by second place with $400 and third place with $200. There will also be a $10 side pot for biggest bass, with a 100 percent payback.
Lake rules apply and dead fish cannot be weighed in for big bass. There will be a five-fish limit with a one pound penalty for one dead fish and a disqualification for a second dead fish.
