Two Juvies Identified In May 3 Walmart Fire

Posted

Two juveniles could be charged with felony aggravated arson in connection with the fire at Litchfield Walmart on Monday, May 3.

The Litchfield Fire Department fire and arson investigators determined that the fire was intentionally set, and working with the Litchfield Police Department, identified two juveniles who were “both a factor in the ignition of the fire,” according to Litchfield Fire Chief Joe Holomy.

The evidence has been turned over to the Montgomery County State’s Attorney for possible charges.  Illinois law protects the identity of minors in juvenile criminal charges.  Aggravated arson is a Class X felony.
