Janet Kay (Riley) Ripperda, 67, of Hillsboro, died on Friday, Feb. 27, 2026, at her home.
No services are planned at this time, but a celebration of life is being planned for the spring. Hough-Dean Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Mrs. Ripperda was born on Jan. 17, 1959, in East St. Louis to Thomas Odell and Ada Kay (Gillis) Riley. She was a graduate of Highland High School in Highland. She held down several jobs; her last place of employment was Moto Mart in Hillsboro, where she thoroughly enjoyed interacting with the public and her coworkers.
Mrs. Ripperda is survived by one son, Aaron Michael Riley; one grandson, Liam Locke; two sisters, Cheryl Renee Merano of Hillsboro and Mary Sue Reinacher of Indiana; along with several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Ripperda was preceded in death by her parents and two children, Danielle Ripperda and Melvin Ripperda, Jr.
