Valle Michael “Mike” Funk, 70, of Hillsboro, died at 6:50 p.m., on Thursday, April 15, 2021, at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

Visitation will be held until the time of service, from 2 to 3 p.m., on Wednesday, April 21, at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Funeral services will begin at 3 p.m., at the funeral home with Rev. James Hayes, pastor of St. James Baptist Church in Hillsboro officiating. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsboro. COVID-19 CDC guidelines with the use of masks and social distancing will be followed. Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro is assisting the Family with arrangements.

He was born on April 15, 1951, in Hillsboro, to Valle H. and Mary (Bremer) Funk. He married Cher Monette, and they later divorced. Mr. Funk was a 1969 graduate of Springfield High School. He worked at CIPS Power Station in Coffeen until retirement

Mr. Funk was a member of Hillsboro Moose Lodge #1377, and the amateur HAM Radio Club of Hillsboro. He loved the St. Louis Cardinals, and 50’s and 60’s rock-and-roll.

Mr. Funk is survived by his children, Shannon Funk of Niantic and Luke (wife, Jennifer) Funk of Hillsboro; five grandchildren, Megan Voyles, John Funk, Samantha Funk, Zachary Funk and Chloe Funk great-grandchildren, Atlas Dewitt, Brayden Bro, Kyson Bro, Tucker Greenwood, Koa Kelly and Breckett Funk; and brother, Richard Funk of St. Louis, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Barbara Jane Funk.
