Vandals Go Two-Over As A Team At Hillsboro


Vandalia put four scoring rounds in the 30s on Monday, Sept. 20, to win the triangular  meet at the Hillsboro Country Club over the Toppers and PORTA.

Led by Dylan Halford’s 2-under 34, the Vandals shot a 146 as a team, just two strokes over par as a team. Conner McCall (36), Chase Laack (37) and Jacob Schaal (39) rounded out the scoring for Vandalia.

The race for second would be a close one as the Bluejays shot a 170 to the Toppers’ 175.

Both Drake Vogel and Preston Lyerla shot 42s for the day, while Dillon Smail added a 45. Austin Loskot turned in his best round of the season with a personal-best 46. Tycen Thacker also played for the Toppers, shooting a 49.

PORTA was led by Trace Donnan, Bryant Crosnoe and Gavin Artholony, all of whom shot 42s.

Hillsboro will see Vandalia again on Monday, Sept. 27, at the South Central Conference Tournament at Indian Springs Golf Course in Fillmore.
