Verna Ruth Shuck, 92, of Hillsboro, died on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2019, at her residence.
Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 20, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hough and Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsboro.
Mrs. Shuck was born April 28, 1927, in Bunker Hill, to Greenbarry and Anna Mae (Pucket) Throne. She was married to George Guinn for 25 years and Carl Shuck for 43 years, and they both preceded her in death.
An entrepreneur, she owned and operated restaurants including a cafe serving the Shoe Factory and the Hillsboro Glass Plant.
Mrs. Shuck was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her children, Joyce (Allen) Cozello Eckelbarger of Indiana, Georgia (Tom) Gunn of Hillsboro, Patty (Larry) Meyers of Hillsboro, Barbara (Vern) Hopley of Irving, George (Karen) Guinn of Walshville, Emma Sprock and Susan Guinn, both of Missouri; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husbands, Mrs. Shuck was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Diane Happe; one grandson, Tim Meyers; and 12 siblings.
