Virgil ‘Rob’ Robbins, 94

Virgil “Rob” Levern Robbins, age 94, of Litchfield, died at 6:50 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 28, 2020, at Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylor Springs.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Robbins was born on June 28, 1926, in Alton, the son of Clark Daniel and Julia Mae (Jackson) Robbins. He married Annie Lucetta Laurie on Dec. 16, 1944, in Laredo, TX, and she preceded him in death on July 29, 2001.

A veteran of the United States Air Force for 22 years, Mr. Robbins worked for Sears in Hillsboro and was also a carpenter. He was a member of the American Legion Post #436 and Litchfield VFW and enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing Bingo and spending time with his family.

Mr. Robbins is survived by one son, Dale Robbins of Litchfield; three daughters, Cynthia Robbins of Springfield, Kelly Robbins of Farmersville and Julie (Matt) VanCuren; one sister, Delores Gross; six grandchildren, Amanda (Bobby) Johnson, Chris Holman, Daniel Robbins, Megan Gress, Morgan Gress and Maverick VanCuren; nine great-grandchildren, Nicholas Holman, Alex Holman, Isaac Wiesman, Addy Holman, Neil Guthrie, Blake Helfrich-Gress, Bentley Helfrich, Allison Barwick and Isla Barwick; two great-great-grandchildren, Dylan and Sage Guthrie; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by one son, Daniel Robbins; three brothers, Leonard Robbins, Vown Robbins and Glen Robbins; two sisters, Viola Loges and Eva Robbins; and one great-grandson, Balin Robbins.

The family suggests memorials to the family, in care of Daniel Robbins.
