Virginia Compton, 80, of Coffeen, died Monday, Nov. 16, 2020, at 11:25 a.m. at her residence.
Cremation rites were accorded and no services are planned at this time. Toberman-Dean Funeral Home in Coffeen is assisting the family.
Mrs. Compton was born Aug. 19, 1940, in Opp, AL, to the late Roy Sutley and Ola Lee Gordman. She married Lloyd Wisely, and he preceded her in death. She then married Ron Compton, and he preceded her in death.
A homemaker, she was active with the Special Olympics and she loved gardening and fishing. She lived in Opp, AL, and Coffeen.
She is survived by her children, Linda (husband Rich) Penrod of Cedar Rapids, IA, Floyd (wife Mardi) Wisely of Campbell Hill, Ginger Alexander of Coffeen, Judy (wife Lynn) Mitchell of Tampa, FL, and Brandy Compton of Coffeen; seven grandchildren, Scott Huber, Mark Pahlmann, Damon Alexander, Jaime Brown, Cody Alexander, Jena Alexander, Rusti Penrod and Kayla Penrod; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, Bentley Leaster; and siblings, Gail Davis, Joyce Spann and Jewell Alred.
In addition to her parents and two husbands, she was preceded in death by one brother, one sister, and a son-in-law, Randy Alexander.
