Virginia Mae Robinson, 78, of Litchfield, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2021, at 1 a.m. at her home surrounded by family and loved ones.

Visitation will be held Monday, Feb. 22, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Litchfield Family Funeral Service. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 23, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Elmwood Cemetery in Litchfield. Due to COVID-19, CDC guidelines will be enforced with the requirement of masks and social distancing.

Mrs. Robinson was born on June 3, 1942, in East Moline, a daughter of Carson and Bernita (Thompson) Tuttle. She married Gary Robinson, Sr. in 1960.

She attended Jacksonville High School. Over the years, she worked at Capps Clothing, Mobile Chemical and Production Press in Jacksonville. She relocated to Texas and worked for South Georgia Laundry Company in Amarillo before returning to Illinois. Upon her retirement, she continued to work at Litchfield Walmart for five years until her health started to decline. She was known for being a Bingo-holic, buying lottery tickets and gambling. She always looked forward to her annual trips to Vegas with her daughter and planned them months in advance. Most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who lovingly gave her the nickname “Nano.”

Mrs. Robinson is survived by her daughters, Cathy (Terry) Hemken of Litchfield and Debra Rolland of Azle, TX; son, James Robinson of Litchfield; six grandsons, Chad (Marleo) Farmer-Davis, Cory (Arminda) Farmer, Craig Farmer, Jordan Tomkins, Colby Robinson and Camden Robinson; two stepgrandchildren, Christy (Walter) Rieck and Terry (Jamie) Hemken, Jr.; six great-grandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren; brother, Carson Baptist of Jacksonville; stepsister, Patricia Owen of Yellville, AR; and brother-in-law, Milton David Ruyle of Jacksonville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sons, Bobby Joe Robinson and Gary Robinson, Jr.; brother, Gary Murray; sister, Naomi Ruth “Billy” Tuttle; and two great-grandchildren, Lexee Farmer and Kai Tomkins.
