Wanda Richardson, 93, of Witt, died on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at Montgomery County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Services will be held Tuesday, June 16, at Toberman Dean Funeral Home in Coffeen. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until noon. Burial will be at Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Coffeen.

Mrs. Richardson was born on June 6, 1933, to Joseph ‘Jode’ and Cordia (nee Prater) Hampton. One of eleven children, she grew up surrounded by a large and loving family. Throughout her life she resided in Coffeen, Bethalto, Raymond and Witt.

Mrs. Richardson married Floyd Richardson on September 25, 1950, in Mulberry Grove. Together they shared a devoted marriage until his passing on June 25, 2008. After her husband became disabled, Mrs. Richardson faithfully cared for him as his around-the-clock nurse for more than 50 years, a testament to her unwavering love, strength and dedication.

Family was the center of Mrs. Richardson’s life. She and her husband were blessed with seven children and her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She treasured every opportunity to gather with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, friends and family.

A strong and determined woman, she courageously battled cancer twice during her lifetime. In her spare time, she enjoyed crafting and creating handmade items. She was also a faithful member of the Christian Church of Witt.

Mrs. Richardson is survived by her children, Gary Richardson of Witt, Rick Richardson of Kincaid, Kevin Richardson of Assumption, Darin Richardson of Raymond, Junanne Crawford of Raymond, Nancy Hughes of Witt, and Kristy Richardson of Nokomis; sister, Melba Howerton; 18 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Jode and Cordia; husband ,Floyd; a great-grandson; two brothers; seven sisters; and one brother-in-law.
