Mrs. Kuperman was born on Sept. 28, 1969, in Hillsboro, the daughter of Carole (Willman) Barricklow and Micheal E. Lutz.   She married Joel Kuperman on Valentine’s Day in 2017.

She graduated from Hillsboro High School with the class of 1987, and went on to follow her dream of becoming a nurse after graduating from the Lincoln Land Community College registered nursing program. Mrs. Kuperman continued her education through Chamberlain University, earning both her bachelor's and master’s degrees in nursing. During her lifetime, she worked as a registered nurse at Barnes Jewish Children’s Hospital, St. John’s Hospital and Life Path Hospice, as well as serving as the director of hospice at Fayette County Health Department in Vandalia.

Mrs. Kuperman touched the lives of countless patients and families with her gentle care, abundant empathy and boundless love. Her ever-present, radical positivity healed and comforted everyone she met. Her daughters, Hannah Stewart-El Hendy and Allie Dawson are proud of their mom for all she accomplished in her professional career and personal relationships.

In her own words, “life is full of ups and downs, what matters most is not how many times you get knocked down, but how many times you get back up, smile and try again, hopefully inspiring others along the way.” Her life is an inspiration to many, especially her daughters.

She is survived by her husband, Joel Kuperman; daughters Hannah (husband Amir) Stewart-El Hendy,  Allie (partner Andrew) Dawson, stepsons Christopher Glass and Ryan (partner Scott Humpreys) Glass; mother Carole (husband Paul) Barricklow; sisters Reonna (husband Michael) Hand and Aubrey (husband Jerrod) Marfell; nieces Chelsea (husband David) Hand-Sheridan, Brenna (husband Matthew) Orlando and  Haedyn Marfell; and nephews Maddoc and Mitchell Marfell.
