William C. Barto, 73

William “Bill” Charles Barto, 73, of Coffeen, died on Monday, Dec. 14, 2020, at Missouri Baptist Center in St. Louis, MO.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, Dec. 23, from 12 to 1 p.m. at Hough Funeral Home in Raymond. A graveside service with full military rites will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.

Mr. Barto was born Aug. 2, 1947, in Carlinville, to Elmer Paul and Alberta M. (Greenfield) Barto. He married Renda Kaye Hicks, and they later divorced. He then married Tammy L. Hankins, and she survives.

He graduated from Lincolnwood High School in Raymond and served in the U.S. Army 91B All-Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic Division during Vietnam.

Mr. Barto worked as a truck driver most of his life. He enjoyed the outdoors, including riding horses, and loved his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Marcy (Michael) Lynn of Marion, Serena Barto of Golconda, Marenda Kay (Eric) Cota and John Pass, both of Litchfield, and Lacey L. (Brennen Smith) Barto of Coffeen; grandchildren, Dakota and Rylie Fletcher, Matthew and David Lynn, Derek Jett, Alexis and Jacob Cota, Braelynn Smith and Austin Pass; one great-granddaughter, Addison Whitlock; and sister, Paula Miller.

Mr. Barto was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Joseph L. “Joe” Barto and Paul Roger Barto.
