William "Bill" V. Tucker, 100, of Butler, died on Monday, Dec. 9, 2019, at his residence.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Dec. 12, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Hough and Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro, with rosary beginning at 3:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be conducted Friday, Dec. 13, beginning at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro with Father Dan Willenborg and Father Albert Allen co-officiating. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Catholic Cemetery in Hillsboro.

Mr. Tucker was born July 10, 1919, in Harvel, to Bryan and Lucy (Meyer) Tucker. He married Monica Kraus on July 16, 1941, at St. Mary's Church in Farmersville, and she preceded him in death in 2000.

He was a lifelong farmer who raised cattle, hogs and sheep.

Mr. Tucker was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro, Hillsboro K of C, Holy Name Society, Soil and Water Conservation District, lifelong member of the Montgomery County Farm Bureau, chairman of the 4-H Park Board in Butler and was a supporter of the Montgomery County 4-H Program.

He is survived by a son, Larry Tucker of Butler; daughter, Barbara Powley of Butler; three grandchildren, Becky Tucker of Hillsboro, Sarah (Eric) Hopf of St. Louis, MO, and Mark Powley of Butler; great-grandchildren, Alex, Lucas, Sean and Ryan Hopf; and siblings, Mary Lou Butler of Springfield, Paul Tucker of Austin, TX, Jo Ann Rettberg of Cleveland, OH, Jerry Tucker of Girard, Jim Tucker of Houston, TX, and David Tucker of Cleveland, OH.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Tucker was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, David Powley in 2014; and siblings, Rita Ellis, Imelda Oglesby, Robert Tucker and Donald Tucker.

Memorials may be directed to St. Louis Catholic School in Nokomis or for masses.
