Zonna L. Stratmeyer, 93, of Litchfield, died Saturday evening, June 16, 2018, at Montgomery Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Hillsboro.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, at St. Timothy United Methodist Church in Litchfield, with Rev. James Tinzmann officiating. Burial will take place at Elmwood Cemetery in Litchfield.
Mrs. Stratmeyer was born on Oct. 23, 1924, to Otto and Fannie (Phrimmer) Laird of Joppa, and was a graduate of Joppa High School. She married Dr. Ernest H. Stratmeyer, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Stratmeyer assisted her husband at their veterinary clinic, Strats Veterinary Clinic in Litchfield and was an active member of St. Timothy United Methodist Church, where she participated in the church's annual pie bake.
She was also a member of the United Methodist Women, the Litchfield Woman's Club, the St. Francis Hospital Auxiliary and the Litchfield/Hillsboro Eastern Star.
Mrs. Stratmeyer is survived by her son, Michael E. (Diane) Stratmeyer of Litchfield; her daughter, Marilyn (Robert) Hobson of Hopkinsville, KY; her four granddaughters, Lynne (Derrick) Bruhn, Kelli (Doug) Ellinger, Sarah (Clay) McGinnis and Lauren Hobson; her grandson, Robert (Jayme) Hobson; her six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter Carolyn Sue Stratmeyer; her great-granddaughter, Morley Grace Bruhn; her sister, Mary Wentzel; and her brothers, Ambrose Laird, Alvin Laird and Paul Laird.
Memorials are suggested to the St. Timothy United Methodist Church or the Quad County Hospice.
