For the tenth time in the program’s history, the Nokomis Junior High girls basketball team advanced to the IESA State Finals, thanks to their eighth graders’ 25-11 victory over North Greene on Wednesday, Dec. 6, at the Central A&M Sectional. Sporting camouflage jerseys sponsored by the Illinois National Guard, members of the Nokomis High School football team took time to honor the military prior to their game with Argenta-Oreana on Friday, Sept. 1, in Nokomis. After the ceremony was over, the Redskins marched through the Bombers' defense to the tune of 350 yards of offense for a 46-14 victory. Lincolnwood catcher Tucker Armentrout couldn't do much else but wait as Kannon Jonas scored the tying run for Nokomis in the bottom of the seventh inning of the MSM Conference game between the two rivals on May 3. Ian Keller was not far behind Jonas as the Redskins plated two runs in the inning to escape with a 6-5 win.
