Mrs. Grabner was born on Nov. 28, 1963, the daughter of Ronald Harrison and Marie Louise (Albrecht) Pursell. She graduated from Litchfield High School with the class of 1981 shortly before meeting the love of her life, Winston Arthur Grabner. They were married on Sept. 25, 1984, in an intimate wedding ceremony with family in Las Vegas, NV. He survives.
Throughout her life, she held various jobs and was known for her work across Litchfield, from her time as a cashier at National Foods and a secretary at the Christian Church of Litchfield. She would later begin working at First National Bank of Litchfield, where she would form close relationships with her coworkers and customers, eventually becoming a branch manager and vice president.
Mrs. Grabner’s generosity was unparalleled, as she happily offered her time and talents to those in the community and spent much of her free time organizing different events around Litchfield. In addition to the time she spent caring for her neighbors, she was especially passionate about Operation Christmas Child, which she helped lead for many years.
She was most proud of her role as a wife, mother and grandmother, and was especially devoted to her family. Her more than forty-year marriage to her husband was one filled with love and laughter and she was especially proud of her relationship with her daughter, Tayler. In recent years, she was happiest spending time with her grandchildren, embracing her role as their “Wawa.”
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Grabner is survived by her daughter, Tayler (Zachary) Shelton of Hillsboro; grandchildren, Eleanor, Rosalind and Harrison Shelton; brother-in-law, Brad Frerichs of Litchfield; niece, Courtney (Nicholas) Wood of Alton; and nephew, Casey Frerichs of Litchfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents; mothe-in-law and father-in-law, Joseph and Doris Grabner; and sister, Connie Frerichs.
