Dorothy Jean (Butler) Anglin, 80, died peacefully in her daughter’s arms and surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, Nov. 9, 2025, at 6:50 p.m., at her residence.

A celebration of life is planned for a later date. Becker and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Anglin was born on May 7, 1945, at Christian Welfare Hospital in East St. Louis, to Max and Anna Mueller (Butler). She graduated from East Side Flyers High School in East St. Louis. She married Jess R. Anglin, Sr., on June 7, 1963. He preceded her in death on Nov. 5, 2023.

Mrs. Anglin was well known for her cooking and baking. She worked in several restaurants around the area. She loved to cook and have family dinners. Family was always important. She was an avid bingo and card player. She will be missed for her smile and the love she had for everyone. She was well known to all as Grandma or GG. She was a loving wife, mother, aunt, grandma, sister and GG.

She is survived by one daughter, Dawn (Scott) Martin of Mt. Olive; sons, Ron (Trish) Anglin and Phillip Anglin of Litchfield; Scott Anglin and Donald Anglin of Mt. Olive; grandchildren, Michael (Corina) Lee, Christina (Derek) Sellers andrew (Jenna) Bone, Cody Anglin, Whitney (Logan) Miller, Regina Holmes, Matthew Bone, Tiffany Anglin, Aaron (Charity) Anglin, Johannah (Issac) Gotcher and Kyleigh (Sam) Anglin; sisters, Bertha Smith of Collinsville and Carol Stalherber of State Park; and numerous nieces and nephews and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Anglin was preceded in death by her husband, Jess Anglin, Sr.; her parents, Max and Anna Butler; sisters, Shirley Brown, Katherine Ogden and Betty Ann Butler; three brothers, Max Butler, Corky Butler and Edward Butler; and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
