Edith Dora Moomey, 97, of Pana, died Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at 4 a.m. in Pana.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 12, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the Coalton Baptist Church in Coalton. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at the church, with Justin Hill officiating. Burial will be held in the Pana Mound Cemetery in Pana.

Mrs. Moomey was born Feb. 24, 1921, in Harrisburg, SD, a daughter of Byron Leon and Iva (McCain) Adkins. She married Homer Ray Moomey on June 27, 1942, in Potosi, MO, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 31, 1984.

A homemaker, she provided childcare.

She is survived by her children, Evelyn M. (Gerald) Sanders of Ramsey, Elda J. Pesch of Nokomis, Ellen A. (Don) Sims of Pana, Nancy L. (Coy) Shaw of Paris Cuiaba, Brazil, Thomas O. (Sandy) Moomey of Sandwich, Robert A. (Letty) Moomey of Nokomis and Byron M. (Dawn) Moomey of Detesfield, AL; 21 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; siblings, Roy Adkins of Nokomis, Ruby Moore of Auburn, George A. Adkins of Sandwich, John Adkins of Monroe, Jim Adkins of Pana, Kenny Adkins of Sandwich and Betty Smith of Oconee.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Charles R. Moomey; a grandchild, William; great-grandchildren, Kristy and Amber; and siblings, Viola Duncan, Lillie Markham, Charles, Howard, Glen Adkins and Rosa Scoughton.
