Gary F. Birkenkamp, 66, of Litchfield, died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2025, in Springfield.
Visitation will be held at Plummer Funeral Home on Sunday, Nov. 9, from 3 until 6 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Nov. 10, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Burial will follow in Elm Lawn Cemetery.
Mr. Birkenkamp was born in Litchfield, on April 20, 1959, a son of Frank Fred and Margaret Blanche “Peggy” (Wikoff) Birkenkamp. He attended Gillespie High School.
Mr. Birkenkamp and the former Laurie Ann Carlock were married Jan. 15, 1977, at First Baptist Church in Litchfield. They enjoyed nearly 49 years of marriage and she survives. He was the maintenance supervisor for Schutt Sports Group in Litchfield for 30 years.
Mr. Birkenkamp was a member of the Litchfield Moose Lodge #1634, an avid golfer and enjoyed camping and fishing. He was a great handyman and repairman. He treasured time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mr. Birkenkamp is survived by his wife, Laurie Birkenkamp of Litchfield; son, Derek (Patty) Birkenkamp of Litchfield; daughter, Shannon (Cory) Bishop of Litchfield; brothers, Ronald (Brenda) Kirby of Hornsby and Fred Birkenkamp of Benld; sisters, Debbie (Russell) Vaught and Patty (Mark) Rands, all of Dorchester; grandchildren, Rylie (Jake) Maddox, Raquel (Austin Woods) Bishop, Brock Bishop, Brevin Birkenkamp and Tinley Birkenkamp; and great-grandchildren, Rowan Maddox and Baker Woods.
Mr. Birkenkamp was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Peggy Birkenkamp; and brothers, Mark Birkenkamp and James Michael Kirby.
