Butler resident Irma A. Clements, 80, formerly of Vandalia, died at 11:07 a.m. Friday, Oct. 10, 2008, at St. Francis Hospital, Litchfield.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home, Hillsboro, with burial at Liberty Cemetery in Mulberry Grove. Pastor Darryl Bolen of First Christian Church of Greenville will officiate.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Clements, a homemaker, was born Dec. 1, 1927, at Edwardsville, daughter of the late Homer and Susy May (Hoyle) McFadden. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vandalia.

She married James York, who preceded her in death. She then married Elvin Ray Clements in 1961 at Greenville, and he died March 3, 1986.

Mrs. Clements leaves nine children, Irma Arlene Clements of Brownstown, John W.R. Clements of Butler, Pam Williams of Centralia, Carol Oliver of Keyesport, Darrell York of Texas, Mickey York of Vandalia, Larry York of Lake Village, IN, Vicky Williams of South Carolina and Patty Wolf of Idaho; a stepson, Larry Clements of Vandalia; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two sisters, Minnie Wilhelm of Butler and Valleda Summerlott of Litchfield; and a special friend, LeRoy Longwell, Sr.

Preceding her in death were a son, Danny Ray Clements; and a brother, Kenneth McFadden.

The family suggests memorials to the Irma Clements Memorial Fund.
