Mary Elizabeth Tiemann, 97, of Litchfield, died on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2026, at HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Feb. 12, from 10 a.m. to noon at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Funeral services will follow at noon at the funeral home. The Rev. Stephen Schmidt of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Litchfield. Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Tiemann was born on Jan. 14, 1929, in Kirkwood, MO, a daughter of Charles Henry and Mary Elizabeth (Bay) Dickinson. She graduated from high school with the class of 1947. She married Maynard H. Tiemann on March 31, 1950, and he preceded her in death on March 31, 2010.

She attended the Lutheran School of Nursing in St.Louis, where she earned her nursing degree. She later worked as a registered nurse and dedicated ten years of service to HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school, sang in the choir and volunteered her time with activities. A devoted homemaker, she was known for her love of reading, needlepoint, cross-stitching and embroidery. She also spent  much of her time tending to her flower gardens.

Mrs. Tiemann is survived by her sons, Gerald (Gloria) Tiemann of Peoria, AZ, Tim Tiemann of Raymond and Ken (Connie) Tiemann of Litchfield; daughter, Judy (John) Carter of Edwardsville; grandchildren, Aaron (Ally) Tiemann, William (Melanie) Tiemann, Shawn (Lorena) Tiemann, Micah (Emilie) Carter, Bethany (Caleb) Payne and Jordan (Carolyn) Carter; and 15 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Charles Dickinson.
