Mildred Bess Olsen, 76, of Morrisonville, died on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2025, in her home.
Cremation rites will be accorded, and her family will host a celebration of life at a later date. Assalley Funeral Home in Morrisonville is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Olsen was born on Oct. 16, 1948, in Pekin, the daughter of Earl Bruce and Bessie (Smith) Olsen. She previously worked at Casey’s and IGA in Morrisonville as well as the Shell station in Raymond.
Mrs. Olsen is survived by her fiancé: David Mullen of Morrisonville; children: Richard (Tracye) Thousand of Yukon, OK, Regina (Derek) Thousand of Decatur, Tammy(Jeremy) Thousand of East Peoria, Chad (Megan) Olsen of East Peoria and Carrie (Rex) Speeks of Farmersville; ten grandchildren and eight bonus grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Glenna Gray of Tilton; half-sister, Carla “C.J.” Opper of Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Olsen was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; and one sister.
