Pansy J. Day, 89

Pansy Jeanette Day, 89, of Litchfield, died on Monday, Jan. 19, 2026, at her home. 

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 26, at Cedar Ridge Cemetery in Honey Bend. Litchfield Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Day was born on July 27, 1936, in Honey Bend, a daughter of Franklin Joel and Ollie Marie (Neldon) Kean. She attended Honey Bend schools. She married Harley Lee Tibbs in June of 1956 in Corinth, MS, and he preceded her in death on April 24, 1990. She later married Kenneth Lee Day in April 1993 at First Christian Church in Decatur. He would also precede her in death in April 2010. 

Mrs. Day worked at Litchfield Creamery Co. When she moved to Decatur, she worked at several creameries and then started at General Electric as an inspector until she retired in 1970. Mrs. Day was raised in the Pleasant Hill Christian Church and later attended Litchfield Christian Church. She enjoyed watching the murder classics on television.

Mrs. Day was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; brother, George “Jack” Walter Kean; and several half brothers and sisters. Mrs. Day is survived by her half-sister, Joan Langer of Livingston; brother, Lee (Teri) Greer of Taylorville; niece, Patty (Kenny) Crumbey of Livingston; and several nieces and nephews.
