Ray E. Zanni, 80, of Petersburg, died on Sunday, Oct. 26, 2025, at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Petersburg.
Cremation rites will be accorded. No services will be held per the family’s request.
Mr. Zanni was born on Sept. 28, 1945, to Aldo and Irene (née Reckerd) Zanni in Hillsboro. He married Cheri Medlin in Springfield on April 29, 1995.
Mr. Zanni worked for Horace Mann in Springfield, as security for many years before retiring.
Mr. Zanni is survived by his wife, Cheri; his children, Jason (Carrie) Zanni and Melissa (Jason) Wood; and several grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings.
