Rodney Ray Beaty, 61, of Girard, formerly of Morrisonville, died on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021, at 9:45 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Jan. 7, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Perfetti-Assalley Funeral Home in Morrisonville. Due to CDC guidelines, social distancing and masks will be required. Private funeral services will follow with Pastor Eric Stillwell officiating. Interment will be held at Morrisonville Cemetery.

Mr. Beaty was born Dec. 16, 1959, in Taylorville, to Ray Beaty and Sheryl (Hill) Rhoades.

He owned Rodney Beaty Lawn Mower Service for many years, providing maintenance on lawn implements as well as lawn care for the community. Later in life he worked for various organizations as a security guard.

Mr. Beaty loved attending demolition derbies, watching racing and playing Bingo.

He is survived hy his fiancee, Janice L. Smith of Girard; daughters, Elizabeth (husband Steve) Taylor of Litchfield and Jeannine (husband Ray Budde) Beaty of Decatur; grandchildren, Kassandra Taylor, Drake Taylor, Skylar Taylor, Bella Budde and Bailey Budde; sister, Rhoda Whipple of Taylorville; brothers, Kyle Beaty of Joliet and Kevin Beaty of Salinas, CA; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and his faithful dogs, Slick and Cookie.

Mr. Beaty was preceded in death by his parents.
