Sharon Kay (Reynolds) Ernest, 76, died on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 4:34 p.m. at her residence in Mt. Olive, surrounded by loved ones.
Visitation will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. at Becker and Son Funeral Home in Mt. Olive on Thursday, July 9. The service will begin at 11 a.m., officiated by Pastor Kevin Simburger. Interment will be at Shiloh Cemetery in Coffeen. Pallbearers are Eric Vancauwelaert, Brendan Landre, Anthony Ussery, Taylor Piechur, D.J. Morgan Jr. and Brian Eads. Becker and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Ernest was born on Aug. 13, 1949, in Springfield, to John Reynolds Jr. and Oneita (Standage) Reynolds. She married Bruce Ernest on March 8, 1999, at the Montgomery County Courthouse, and he survives. She was employed as a CNA.
In addition to her spouse, she is survived by her sister, Cindy Morgan of Coffeen; son, Brian Eads of Springfield; daughters, Tresa Eads, Shannon (Eric) Vancauwelaert of Mt. Olive and Angel Osborn of Astoria; grandchildren, Crystal Brooks, Rabeca Hutchens, Kendra Hammann, Arielle Halvey, Arianna Miloncus, Arielle Miloncus, Brendan Landre, Allison Landre, Autumn Osborn, Elias Osborn and Stormey Posey; seven great-grandchildren, Taylor Piechur, Elisa Madeline, LoraLye Ussery, Anthony Hulvey, Michael Hulvey, Nova Selene and Mason Posey; nieces and nephews, Jody White of Colorado, D.J. Morgan Jr. of Coffeen and Nichole Ehrhard (Knapp) of Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Judy Ehrhardt
