Sharon Renee Thompson, 62, of Benld, died at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026, at 10:37 p.m.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Thompson was born on Nov. 23, 1963, in Alton, to William F. Tucker and Barbara Comb Tucker. She married Mark Thompson on May 3, 1983, in Alton. He preceded her in death on Oct. 28, 2019. She was a legal secretary for a law office and enjoyed playing video games and being with family and friends.
She is survived by her sons, Jim (Kelly) Thompson of Hillsboro and Geoff (Melissa) Thompson of Gillespie; grandchildren, Jesse, Luke, Grayson, Caleb and Parker; and brother, Richard Tucker of East Alton.
Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her parents; spouse; sons, Jesse Tucker and William “Bill” Thompson.
