Shirley Ann Davis, 66, of Schram City, died at home on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 22, at Hough-Dean in Hillsboro, officiated by the Rev. Gary Stanford. Interment was at Wares Grove Cemetery in Butler.
Mrs. Davis was born to Winean and Rosemary Hopwood in Hillsboro, on June 22, 1960. She married David E. Davis on April 8, 2004, at Montgomery County Courthouse in Hillsboro; he survives.
Throughout the years, she was a homemaker, a bar tender, was employed at Hardees, and most recently, was a deli clerk at IGA, where customers lined up for her cooking on the days she worked. She was known for cooking from scratch for her husband and family, who had many favorites--including David’s favorite, lasagna; chicken and noodles; biscuits and gravy; and cheese balls. In her spare time, she avidly crocheted, making baby blankets. She enjoyed drinking Pepsi, playing bingo with her friends, visiting the casino, fishing, hunting mushrooms and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Davis is survived by her children, Jason (Heather) Davis of Irving, and Crystal Restifo of Belleville; her grandchildren, Kelsey (Evan) Kershaw of Donnellson, Caleb Fassero of Irving, Bailey Davis of Irving, Kyleigha Davis of Irving and Alex and Natalia Restifo of Belleville; her siblings, Sandy (Greg) Singleterry of Taylor Springs, Rick Hopwood of Coffeen and Ron (Kelley) Hopwood of Hillsboro; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
