Thomas E. Lindgens Jr., 63, of Hillsboro, died at 10:06 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 12, 2026, at his residence in Hillsboro.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, Jan. 24, from 10 to 11 a.m. at New Hope Baptist Church in Worden. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church, with Pastor David Lindgens officiating.
Mr. Lindgens was born on Dec. 29, 1962, in Highland, a son of the late Thomas and Beatrice (Roberts) Lindgens Sr. He served his country honorably, serving in both the U.S. Army and later the U.S. Navy. He retired from the U.S. Navy as a disabled veteran.
Mr. Lindgens married Tracy O’Neil on March 6, 1998, in Florida and she survives.
Mr. Lindgens worked as a sheet metal worker at Boeing (formerly McDonnell-Douglas) in St. Louis, MO for many years. He would later start his own business, owning and operating Lindgens Tree Service out of Hillsboro.
Mr. Lindgens was a past member of the Mt. Moriah Masons Lodge #51 AF and AM in Hillsboro. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Mr. Lindgens is survived by his wife, Tracy Lindgens of Hillsboro; four children, Thomas E. (fiancé Shelbi Roberts) Lindgens III of Collinsville, Samantha Lindgens of Brighton, Ryan (Heather Jackson) Lindgens of Mt. Olive and John Bryan of Hillsboro; seven grandchildren, Oakleigh Lindgens, Parker Lindgens, Hayley Hicks, Danielle Hicks, Gavin Hicks, Ava Lindgens and Ryan Lindgens Jr.; two sisters, Donna Lindgens of Staunton and Connie Holland of Litchfield; and four nieces and nephews.
Mr. Lindgens was preceded in death by his parents.
