Services for Brenda J. Miller Grissom, 59, of Benld, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 29, in Kravanya Funeral Home, Gillespie. Pastor Steve Friese will officiate with burial in Benld Cemetery.
Mrs. Grissom died at 8:37 a.m. Thursday, June 25, 2015, in her home.
She was a graduate of Scharfenberg Cosmetology School and worked as a nurses' aide for Edwardsville Nursing and Rehab and later for Hitz Memorial Home in Alhambra. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Gillespie.
Born Feb. 1, 1956, in Alton, she was a daughter of Leo Pruitt and Ella Paoni Pruitt Buhs. She married Michael D. Grissom on Feb. 24, 2015, in Carlinville and he survives.
Also surviving are a son, Kenneth (wife Jennifer) Miller of Sawyerville; daughter, Tammy Eardley of Litchfield; stepfather Dale Buhs of Bunker Hill; three brothers, Michael Pruitt of Cottage Hills, Benjamin Pruitt of Gillespie and William Pruitt of Bunker Hill; two sisters, Pam Grove of Bunker Hill and Karen Caldwell of Harvey, LA; stepchildren, Kayla Gabner of Orlando, FL, Kalib Grissom and Kimberly Grissom, both of Lake Mary, FL; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were two sons, Marvin Miller, Jr. and Joshua Miller; sister, Tina Pruitt; brother, Jimmy Pruitt and his companion, Ron Brandt.
