Caitlyn Rae Welsh, 17, of Raymond died Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016, at 4:03 p.m. in St. John's Hospital, Springfield, as the result of a car accident.

Funeral services for Miss Welsh are scheduled for Friday, Feb. 12, in the gym of Lincolnwood High School at 11 a.m.  Visitation will be held Thursday, Feb. 11, from 3 until 7 p.m. at the high school.

She was born on Oct. 22, 1998, to Eva Boehler of Raymond and John Welsh of  Farmersville. A junior at Lincolnwood, she held a 5.07 GPA and was a member of the Scholastic Bowl Team. She also served on the Prom Committee and for the Lincolnwood Community Service Organization. One of her dreams included visiting in Paris with plans to be a pastry chef, but she was also considering entering the medical field.

She enjoyed reading and made weekly trips to the library with her siblings. Interested in the home arts, she enjoyed baking/caning, gardening and sewing as well as babysitting for Ally and Grady. 

She is survived by her parents; one brother, J. Bradley Welsh of Raymond; one sister, Julian Nicole Welsh of Raymond; paternal great-grandmother Norma Hampton of Waggoner; paternal grandparents Jack and Sandy Welsh of Farmersville; maternal grandparents Thomas and Joan Boehler of Waggoner; aunts Cindy Hatton, Carmen McLaughlin, Constance Belanger, Christa Gorman and Jill Krager; uncles Steve Boehler, Ruben Boehler, Joel Welsh, Jeremy Welsh and Josh Welsh; many cousins; many friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials should be directed to the Farmersville Library or to the Lincolnwood Activity Fund. Donations to the family may be taken to any area Bank and Trust.
