Chauncey Myron Edwards, 104, of Donnellson died Saturday, Aug. 6, 2016, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

Funeral services for Mr. Edwards are scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 10, at 12 p.m. (noon) at the Bass Patton Funeral Home in Hillsboro. The Rev. Ralph Ward will officiate, and burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, Reno. Visitation will also be on Wednesday from 11 a.m. till time of services.

Mr. Edwards was born on Jan. 15, 1912, in Reno (Bond County) to Roy and Elwood (Caulk) Edwards. He worked as a farmer and retired from the Pet Milk Company in Greenville.

He and Blanche R. Spies were married in Hillsboro in 1935. She preceded him in death on Jan. 4, 2011. His parents; two grandchildren; two sisters, Ruby Edwards and Faye Whitlock; and one brother, Paul Whitlock, also preceded him.

Surviving are two sons, Billy G. (wife Kathryn) Edwards of Highland and Gary D. (wife Shirley) Edwards of Litchfield; two daughters, Dixie L. (husband Mannie) Gaston of Lincoln and Deanna G. (husband Jerry) Sullivan of Springfield; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Edwards lived in the Reno and Donnellson area most of his life.

The family suggests memorials to the Bethel Cemetery in Reno.
